RISD Rover competes in NASA's annual Human Exploration Rover Challenge (HERC), where we must fully fabricate a two person rover vehicle to traverse a simulated lunar track and complete a set of tasks under a time limit.
The rover is fully designed, fabricated, and assembled each year to iterate on our previous designs and adapt to NASA's changing course in Huntsville, Alabama.
Using carbon fiber in our designs creates strong, high performance pieces that remain light to keep the weight of our rover down.
